Heart on my Sleeve

Heart on my Sleeve

A Poem by Kasey Nichole

As I watched the headlights pull away,
I begged and pleaded for you to stay.

My heart began to crack and break,
All of my innocence you did take.

Tears clouded my blurry eyes,
While rain fell from the tortured skies.

You waved goodbye and I waved back,
Two years of my life you threw off track.

Now I am left here in the rain,
Alone and drenched from all the pain.

So, as I watched the headlights leave,
I no longer wore my heart on my sleeve.

I love how you concluded your poem by connecting the first stanza to the last one
Gives a nice organised complete feel to it
Other than that i love the emotions here.....great poem
One could draw alot of analogies from it

Powerful and really impressive write up dear! I got goosebumps, while reading it. Way simple and way expressive.

Cheers!
Singh.
