Little Ethan

Little Ethan

A Poem by Kasey Nichole

Little Ethan

Like the wind in the trees,
Like the buzzing of the bees,
Like the slow bath of color from sidewalk chalk,
Washing away with every rain drop.

For me, it was yet another day,
For you, it was your time to go, you could not stay.
An unfortunate event,
You left, you went,
At only four years old,
So young, So naive, yet oh, so bold.

One's heart can only hold so much, and when that heart is damaged...
Sometimes we're forced to let you go,
It breaks my heart, to let you know.
It is not fair,
You have my prayers,
but life keeps moving on,
People keep living,
Still harsh and unforgiving.
And then there's me...
And I don't know why... but I still care so deeply.
And on that day, that dreadful day,
On March 20,2013...
my soul died with you.

RIP Ethan... I won't forget you little buddy.

A very sad poem. Lost of child. Leave the people who loved and cared for. A permanent memory. Thank you for sharing the powerful poetry. I keep a photo of my sister baby girl who died. A reminder to be kind to the family near.
