My senses

My senses

A Poem by Hetra

I perceive things differently, in shades and colors

Hues and tints of unrestrained powers

Light versus dark, which one out lasts

The present the future and the past

I hear the trees when they talk amongst

Whispers so somber, dawn to dusk

Voices so angry screams from within

Night is the darkest when light cannot bend

I feel the air as it touches my flesh

In my soul and in my chest

Stabbing pains shoot through my head

As the heavens above choke me again

I taste waterless rain fall from sky

In a desert of obscurity concealed inside

Dehydration sand spills from my hands

Hours wasted in this dying land

I can smell my own mortality

As my heart is filled with misery

Life fades out, the body dies

Reborn again my soul shall rise
