My sensesA Poem by HetraI perceive things differently, in shades and colors Hues and tints of unrestrained powers Light versus dark, which one out lasts The present the future and the past I hear the trees when they talk amongst Whispers so somber, dawn to dusk Voices so angry screams from within Night is the darkest when light cannot bend I feel the air as it touches my flesh In my soul and in my chest Stabbing pains shoot through my head As the heavens above choke me again I taste waterless rain fall from sky In a desert of obscurity concealed inside Dehydration sand spills from my hands Hours wasted in this dying land I can smell my own mortality As my heart is filled with misery Life fades out, the body dies Reborn again my soul shall rise © 2013 Hetra |
