Anger, Grief, Strong, Vulnerable, Gone.

Anger, Grief, Strong, Vulnerable, Gone.

A Poem by Plagued Monumentally
"

Basically anger, grief, strong, vulnerable, gone is the steps that I go through during break ups or letting go of a situation/friend. I hope you like the poem. :)

"
Images of your eyes
flash to cannibalistic vultures
feeding on the heart of their
prey.
They prey on the weak
and the broken
and sometimes even
the miserable.
You never wanted to hurt me,
but yet you continue
to be in my presence
you can hear my heart
scream,
the blood pouring like
the tears that shoot
out of my eyes.
Replicas are hard to come by,
but life has a way
of surprising
you
you might want to
think twice
before you cross someone
who knows karate.
The world has never seemed
so big
and the people have never
seemed so
mean
but cuts heal
and mistakes overlap with
other ones.
You once gave me a
heartache
and now you left me
with a
headache.

Author's Note

Plagued Monumentally
If you haven't noticed, the stanzas are broken into the 5 stages of "getting over a break up". Just thought that would be cool for you to know.

that was very nice and noticed the stanzas and nicely done with that and I adored the ending with "You once gave me a heartache and now you left me with a headache." I know so people who would really like that. Anyways well done with capturing a breakup and words that the common person can relate to in so many ways.

This was wonderful. It spoke to me in a way I could relate to. Keep writing! :)

I really like how you unexpectedly broke that up, makes you want to look it over once again to find what stage was what. (Very wicked smart of you ;) ) I thought this was one part sarcastic (don't know if that's how you wanted it to sound...?) and then another part reflective. Discrete and bouncy.

Favorite stanza: the blood pouring like
the tears that shoot
out of my eyes.

this poem held deep meaning as it spoke to me. Nicely done.

Turn the headache into understanding!

Quite interesting....I like the format you imposed on the structure of the poem. I think it strengthens the point of the poem. I especially relish the ending of heartache and headache. Made me smile. How a pain so deep can become more of irritation toward the end. That person becomes less important in our eyes which takes the power out of the control they have over us in causing us heartache.

I was a touch confused about the first stanza where you mention "Prey" and then "pray." Did you mean to use the same word as prey? Maybe there's a different word you could use? Just a thought.

I have to say this is possibly one of my favorites you've ever done. (:

A amazing poem. I had to read it a second time. The flow of the poem made the purpose alive and well. Sometime the direct way in words and actions are needed to tell someone the truth. A very good ending to a excellent poem.

I noticed it after a few minutes of reading this. I really liked the way that you formatted the poem, and this is honestly the first time I've ever seen something done like this. Very well done.
