Words mean Deja Vu

Words mean Deja Vu

A Poem by Plagued Monumentally
"

The beginning is different from the end. This is mostly about a guy and his relationship with another girl.

"

People pretend to be

who they look to be

but are never actually

who they are.

And when they step up,

someone always

makes a bridge for them

to fall.

There are some things that

you are allowed to change

but some things

are restricted.

A year is like a lifetime

months of change

days of love

minutes of thoughts

and seconds of breathing.

Comparing time

is like comparing yourself

to another person

you will never measure up

no matter what you do

or say.

His love for her

will continue to grow

while the support of me

will only be unofficial.

A human that is a secret

is like covering up

an evil soul.

Competitions always

come to an end,

so when will mine end?

You sound philosophical. I love how you compare certain things that most people wouldn't think about comparing to one another. You make a lot of good points about how life changes and goes on and how there ins't anything we can do about it. I love the last stanza because your so honest about the way you feel towards the situation. You're kind of vague about things but that just adds to the poem. It's almost like you're making it easy for people see what they want to see out of it and make them relate it to their lives. It's great! Stanzas three and five are my favorite, they really called out to me :) thanks for posting

That was a really good poem and I'm with her with ypiu sounding like a philosopher. Lost in thought talking about and how all aspect connect in one way and another and one day come to a end as all life dose. Also I just love when people ask a questio at the end making us think about your words like a true philosopher. Anyways well dome with this and words all in such a flow well anyways well done and keep up the excellent writing and showing the meaning behind yoput word as they deep.

Always the bridesmaid, but never the bride comes to mind. Being the supportive friend, but longing to be the lover is always a challenge. You delve into it simply, but effectively.

I think the poem would be even more effective if you work on the format a bit. It's close, but could use a slight touch-up. For instance, you start out with four line stanzas, then go to a five and then six stanza, then back to four, then to three. It disrupts the flow a bit. If it's deliberate, make it more deliberate and obvious.

Just my humble opinions! Overall, a great read that I enjoyed very much!

This poem makes good sense. We all change over our life time from experiences we go through and encounter. We are human so many times we fall short of what we would like to be. It is a good thing that forgiveness is a part of our nature.

Ugh, your poetry gives me goosebumps. Very well written. It reminds me of something I just wrote. I'll send you a read request (:

There are a lot of very powerful comparisons here, and this poem asks some very audacious questions-- some of which we are not willing to answer.
