[3] An omen dreamA Chapter by Plagued MonumentallyA little longer this time.Daenerys stood at the bottom of the monstrous snowy hill, watching all the children sled down the slippery slopes. At the top, there were a couple kissing. At first she ignored it, but when the guy turned his face, she realized that it was her brother and her best friend. Her heart stopped and all the color vanished from her face, leaving her sick. Emily was happily kissing Drogan back, without a care in the world. All the children laughed and giggled around them, but they seemed to be lost in their own world. Like they were the only two people on top of the world that mattered. Her heart kept racing and dropping, making her feel dizzy and light headed, trying to soak in the scene she was witnessing. She felt like this was a crime. Her brother was a horrible man sucking Emily's innocent personality. "No!" Daenerys tried to scream, but nothing came out. Just a breathless soul watching everyone, but they can't see or hear her. And when she tried to run to stop the kissing, she couldn't move. It was like she was sinking in the snow, but her head was above it, watching as everyone's lives flashed before her eyes. Wondering why on earth they would be together in such a public place. "Lovely sight, isn't it? I told you if you disobeyed me that you would get hurt." The raspy and disgusting whisper of Drogan's voice surrounded her, but he was still kissing Emily. He was getting back at me! And Emily was just a pawn in his callous game of chess. But the question that she desperately wanted answered was: what did Daenerys do that Drogan felt the need to hurt her? "I told you not to ask our mom about your dad." His voice filled her ears again, making her shiver with fear. The venomous emphasis he had when he said "your dad" made her feel angry. Dad? What was he talking about?! The pain crept in her brain, making a buzzing noise. She didn't know where she was, what she did, and what Drogan was talking about. "Look around you, what do you see?" Daenerys looked around, and saw blood on the white snow. She didn't know where the children went, all that was left was blood. Crimson pools of unanswered questions. Were they even here? Or was it her imagination? Were they even happy? Or was it just a show that she played every day at school? Emily and Drogan were standing on the hill, side by side, holding hands and starring down at her. There was no whites in her eyes, only blackness. Like a demon under the spell of Drogan's fiend spirit. Hot tears ran down Daenerys's cheeks, making her insides squirm with sorrow and sympathy. As Drogan saw her cry, a smile crept on his vindictive face. "I never forget, Dany." He lipped the words as he grew closer and closer, Emily by his side. And as they got closer, Daenerys could see that Emily's mouth was stitched. The corners of her mouth hiding a frown, no happiness was written on her porcelain face. "What happened to you?" Daenerys mouthed the words, knowing that she couldn't speak. And after the words flew out of her mouth, she found them closing together. No gap between them as she felt a serging pain on her lips. The blood in them boiled and pulsated, trying to get used to the pain. Her hand flew to her mouth as she felt the stitching, and then the warm blood smearing on her hands. Daenerys's eyes widened with terror. "I never liked it when you talked." Drogan said to her as his tenacious grip tightened on Emily's hand. Daenerys looked away from the both of them, seeing dead faces of children on the ground, blood pooling around their necks. The sickening feeling churned around in her stomach, making her grieve with sympathy and disgust. Did he do this? "If you go to mom and ask her about your father, you won't be so lucky as Emily." Drogan's lips didn't move, but the voice surrounded the mysterious atmosphere. Is he really capable of murder? What is he even talking about? My dad died when I was seven, why is he talking about him? What does mom know about him, anyways? The questions rampaged through her thoughts, making a stampede of confusion in her clouded brain. There was nothing she could do. She would always be enslaved under Drogan. Even in her dreams. "I thought you said we would pull an all nighter." Emily frowned, her finger poking her forearm, leaving white fingerprint marks on her skin. Daenerys groaned as she opened her eyes, Emily right by her face. "Sorry, I dozed off." "Yeah, I know. Your mouth wouldn't stop moving." Daenerys's hand went to her mouth to make sure everything was a dream. She looked at Emily once again to make sure she was still normal. Yes, she still had her thin pink lips with a hint of lip gloss, and her eyes were still blue with whites around them. She sighed in relief. "Sorry, I had a bad dream." "What about?" She raised an eyebrow. "Just something I wish I hadn't seen." "Hm, another nightmare?" "Yeah." "You seem to have those a lot." Emily sat up and lifted her arms to her head, drawing all her hair in her hands so she could put it up in a loose pony tail. "I can't help it." "I know you can't." Daenerys looked around Emily's room like she did all the time when she was over. She had a large fish tank sitting on a table near the corner with her make up kit and light up mirror. Fish swam here and there, like an infinite game of tag. Her white dresser still white as ever, her television and DVD player sitting on the top of it. Little things also stood on the dresser, like candy and glass ornaments. On her wall beside her bed was her drawings of fantasy creatures; dragons mostly. Then on the ceiling right above her bed was male celebrities that she thought was cute. Taylor Lautner, Damon and Stefan from Vampire Diaries, Finn from Glee and Criss Angel. Her wallpaper was a rain forest with tropical birds plastered on it, the clash of blue, green and yellow gave off a safe and secure environment. Her door, which had sweaters and towels hanging off of it, kept them isolated from the outside world. Her bed was the size of a twin bed, but a little bigger. It had a Pokemon fuzzy blanket with Pikachu in the middle of it. "What are you thinking about?" Emily asked her, with her phone resting on the palm of her hand. "Just studying your room. Something seems...different." Daenerys looked around again, looking for something. No, it wasn't the basket of animals that hung down from her roof with pink netting, and it wasn't the purple curtains and a ledge hidden behind it with special objects on it. "I don't have my dolls anymore." Emily said, looking over to the bare wall right above the fish tank. "Why?" That was it. The dolls starring at her at night, creating an eerie environment had vanished. "I thought it was time to get rid of them." "But they were imported from Brazil and Australia." Daenerys exclaimed. Emily shrugged, then looked down at her phone. Daenerys could tell that she was waiting for a text from someone - probably Ty. "Hey - do you want to go to the movies?" Daenerys looked at her, her eyebrows coming together. "Its almost 1 in the morning." "So? Its open all the time. Plus, Ty is going. And there is a really cute guy with him." Daenerys groaned. "Please tell me this isn't a set up." Emily giggled a couple times, then smiled innocently. "I would never do that to you." "Uh huh." Daenerys fell back on the bed and ran her fingers through her long brown curly hair. "I don't even look that good to go out with someone." "Thats why I have make up and a hair straightener. Oh, and I have clothes that you can borrow. I come prepared." She smiled again, loosing the innocent edge to it. Daenerys knew there was no way to get out of it. If she didn't go, they both would be wondering "what if", and she hated that. "Fine, lets go." "I'll get you all dolled up. You'll like him, I promise. And if you don't have fun, I'll give you 20 bucks." "Deal." "Its freezing!" Daenerys said as they snuck quietly out the front door of Emily's small house. Emily closed the door softly behind them, then they ran a down the sidewalk so they were out of window's view. "Yeah. But its so worth it." They walked down the street, turning left on 139 ave. They could see the flashing movie sign a couple blocks away. Daenerys fixed her shorts so they came down lower on her thighs. She hated showing too much of her skin. Her tank top was covered by a really pretty beige light sweater. Emily looked like she was ready for prom. She had a short black and blue sparkly dress and she had black flats with a bow near the tops of them. "Are you excited to see Ty?" Daenerys asked her, shivering slightly. If Drogan knew what she was doing, he would have her head. He didn't like it when she went out with Emily in public, now what would he think? Sneaking out of her house to meet cute guys was risky and dangerous. But she went with it anyways. Drogan didn't rule her life, even though sometimes it seemed like he did. She was independent and strong, she didn't need him. In fact, her life would of been better if Drogan never entered it. "Yes! Ugh, this is our first 'date', I'm so excited." She clapped her hands and squealed a little. You could definitely tell that she was excited. Daenerys laughed a little. "You've liked him for how long? Six months?" "Seven this coming Friday." "Oh, do you know the hours and minutes you've liked him too?" Emily nudged her elbow in the side of her left arm, "very funny." As they walked down the street, they passed a couple guys that smelled like alcohol. They were a little younger than Emily and Daenerys, which was sad. "You know what I just realized?" Daenerys told Emily as she kicked a brown stone on a random patch of grass. "What?" "Ty is a freshman, and you're a senior. You only have around a month left with him." Emily frowned and kicked a rock also, sending it flying ahead of them. "Yeah, I was thinking that when you were sleeping." "What are you going to do?" Emily sighed, sending her bangs flying back. "I'm not sure. I think...well, we have the summer. If it doesn't work out, then it doesn't work out. At least I have a little time with him, you know?" No, she didn't know. "Yeah, I get it." "Its alright, though, I'll be fine." "I know." They walked in silence the rest of the way. When they approached the movie theater, Daenerys saw the two boys standing near the entrance. One had a skateboard and headphones, which was obviously Ty, and the other one was wearing all black and had gorgeous blonde hair. As she got closer, she could see he had that biggest brown eyes. "Hey Ty, hey Matt." Emily said as they stopped in front of them. She went over and gave Ty a huge hug, and he returned it with the same enthusiasm. "Daenerys, right?" Matt said, raising an eyebrow behind his gorgeous shiny hair. "Or Dany, whichever you prefer." "Its nice to meet you," he extended his hand and she took it, shaking it firmly before letting go. She looked over at Emily who was already engaged in a conversation with Ty. "So what movie are we seeing?" Daenerys asked to Matt quietly. "I think it was some zombie movie that just came out." Daenerys felt her heart drop. She didn't want to see a scary movie, not right after her nightmare she had. Blood and guts made her already feel nauseous, she couldn't handle actually seeing it on screen. "Oh." She said and looked down at the pavement. "Or we could see something else, if you'd prefer." "No, its alright. I...I like scary movies." "Excellent." Halfway through the movie, Daenerys bolted out of the theater, with Matt right behind her. She cupped her hands around her mouth so she wouldn't get sick on somebody, then made it to the nearest garbage can outside of the theater. She got sick two times, the sound didn't bother Matt one bit. Instead of him just standing there, he got behind her and held her hair for her. He pulled her straight brown hair back and held it in his hands, rubbing her back in a soothing motion as she got sick. Her stomach felt like it was going to come out of her mouth, she really hated getting sick. "Are you alright?" Matt asked quietly after she was done getting sick. She was sitting near the wall next to the theater, just far enough so she wouldn't get hit by the doors when the movie finished. Matt was sitting next to her, his arm around her waist as her head fell on his shoulder. "I'll be fine," she whispered. She felt like if she kept talking that she was going to get sick again. And that was the last thing she wanted. To get sick on Matt on their first date. If you could even call it a date anymore, it turned into a disaster. "I'm sorry." She said calmly. "What for?" "I know this wasn't how you imagined tonight." "I actually didn't even know you were coming. Ty just said that he was meeting a couple friends." "Oh." "But I'm glad you showed up." Daenerys felt uncomfortable after he said that. No guy has ever said that to her before. She tensed up a little, and Matt could obviously feel that. "Are you going to get sick again?" Daenerys shook her head. "I'll be alright, can I just rest here for a moment?" She asked him quietly. "Of course. The movie won't be finished for another hour or so." All she could do was smile, because she felt safe. For an hour, she wasn't in Drogan's control. She was free to do whatever she wanted. If she wanted to kiss Matt, then she could without being punished. If she wanted to stay the night over at his house, then she could. For now, she was safe.
