Chapter 11A Chapter by Plagued MonumentallyThis is all I have so far. XDChapter 11: I woke up to the sound of dishes banging around. I slowly opened my eyes, the morning glow of the sun streaming out of the windows. Dust motes were swirling around in the air as I sat up. I guess I fell asleep on the couch and didn’t bother making my way to my bed. I wonder if Caleb did the same thing too. I got up, stretching my legs and arms which were really stiff. I made my way to the window and saw that it was actually sunny. The sun was reflecting off the snow around the apartment making me look away because it was so bright. The sky was a pale blue and cloudless. “Oh, good morning love,” Caleb said, walking out of the kitchen while wiping his hands with a dish cloth. I yawned before I got the chance to speak. “What time is it?” I wondered. “Almost 11. You fell asleep last night during the middle of the movie, and you looked so peaceful so I didn’t want to move you. So we both fell asleep on the couch.” “Wasn’t Mike coming over today?” I suddenly remembered. “Yeah. He called about a half an hour ago. He told me his brother had a soccer game so he won’t be able to come over till around 2PM.” He shrugged and looked over at me. “I’m gonna go for a shower. I’ll be back.” He threw the cloth towards the sink and it landed in perfect shot. “Okay,” I said and slumped back onto the couch and closed my eyes. Suddenly the phone rang, just my luck. I looked back to see if Caleb would come back out to answer it, but he didn’t. I pushed myself up with my arms and walked over to the phone that was sitting on the base like always. I recognized the number and I hit ‘talk’ because I knew Micah would be on the other end. “Hi,” I said in a cheerful voice. “Morning Katrina.” Micah answered I looked down as I walked towards my room, trying to think of something to say to him. “How are you?” I asked knowing that wasn’t the best thing I could’ve said. I shut my door and sat on the edge of my bed. “Better than last night. You?” I bit down on my lip softly. I wasn’t sure if I was suppose to bring up last nights events or if I should just leave it alone. But I couldn’t just leave it alone. “I’ve been wanting to ask you something since I got home last night,” I started to say. When he didn’t say anything after, I knew he knew what I was starting to get at. “About you being a werewolf.” “I know.” “I’m just curious as to how you actually became one. Would you tell me?” “Are you sure you’re willing to listen? Its a pretty long story.” “I’ll listen.” I reassured him. “Well, alright,” I could hear him sigh. “You remember when I was gone for about a week? Well during that week was really hectic. Me and my family went over to my grandparents place for the weekend but it eventually turned to a week’s visit. During the second night I was there, I was walking through the forest that surrounded their isolated home. I didn’t even hear anything until something, or someone, came up behind me. All I remember was I could feel something tearing my flesh apart. I can’t even begin to explain how much pain I felt. I thought it was a bear or even a coyote, but later I realized it was neither.. The pain was enough to knock me out, which I was glad for. The following morning I woke up on my grandparents bed and didn’t have a scratch on me. I thought it might of been a dream of some sort, but the pain was too real and I knew it wasn’t a possibility. My grandma explained to me what happened and eventually told me that I was one. I never knew how she found out I was, but I had a feeling that there was something she wasn’t telling me. I didn’t get the option to find out though.” I listened to every word he was saying, getting caught up in it. A couple moments of silence passed and I realized that he was done. “Wow,” was all I said. “Yeah, tell me about it.” Another sigh. “I’m sorry you had to go through that. I mean, I still don’t know how I’m suppose to be reacting to finding out you’re a werewolf. It just all seems surreal.” “I thought so too at first.” “What do we do now? I mean, what does this mean for you?” I asked curiously. “There’s nothing I can do. I can’t wish this all to be away. I’ll just have to get through this one day at a time. My grandma told me that I’d eventually have to join a pack. I don’t exactly know how I’m suppose to, considering I don’t know anybody else that’s a werewolf.” I tried to hold in a laugh. “Yeah, because you can’t just go up to someone and say; “I’m a werewolf, do you know anybody who has a pack, or is in one, that’s looking for members?” “Mhm, exactly.” There was a pause of deafening silence. “So what are you doing today?” Micah asked willingly. “Mike is probably coming over. Then Lyem, Saria, Landon, Riley and Dad.” I looked down at my fingernails, waiting for his response. “Mike is coming over?” For some reason I imagined him raising his eyebrow. “Yes.” When he didn’t respond I knew that he didn’t like the idea. “Do you have a problem against it?” I asked defensively. “After what he did to you, you’re going to let that scum in your house?” “He apologized.” “That still does not make what he did right.” “I know.” “You forgive too easily, Katrina.” “If you were in Mike’s position, I’m sure you wouldn’t be saying that.” “I would not want you to give me your forgiveness so easily.” “Why not?” “Because I would want to earn it, not be given it.” After he said that, I knew we were finished talking about this. “I’m not sure if Mike will be coming over, anyways. I’m going dress shopping with Saria today.” “Dress shopping?” He asked, curiously. “Yeah. Saria wants me to be her maid of honor for her and Lyem’s wedding.” “Sweet. I’m sure you’d look incredibly pretty in a dress.” “I’m allowed to bring a date. So, Micah, would you be my date for the wedding?” I mentally crossed my fingers, hoping he would say yes. “Whens the wedding?” “They never gave me a specific date, but all I know its coming up soon.” “I’d love to.” I blushed deeply as soon as those 3 words escaped his mouth. Then I smiled widely, not even bothering to hide my enthusiasm. “Great!” © 2011 Plagued MonumentallyAuthor's Note
