Chapter 4A Chapter by Plagued MonumentallyChapter 4: The last class I had for the day was Biology, which I had with Micah. I wasn’t too sure if he knew his way around this school yet, but when I entered Mr. Andrews classroom I saw Micah at the back of the classroom. Micah looked like he was drawing something, or doodling, or catching up on the curriculum. I started to scout out available seats that I could sit in, and ironically the only available seat was beside Micah. Without hesitation, I walked over to the empty desk and quietly put my things on the desk, I was trying not to disturb Micah. He must of saw me or something, because he abruptly looked up and closed the creation he was working on. “Hey,” he mumbled. “Hey cheerful.” I said, grinning. Micah didn’t seem all that enthusiastic, but then again I haven’t really had the chance to get to know him. I wasn’t so sure if he had a problem with me, or if he just wasn’t in the best of moods, “How are you?” He asked. “I’m fantastic. And you?” Giving him the same enthusiasm he gave me, which wasn’t a lot. “Great.”Mr. Andrews finally started making his way into class. He was really tall, had dark eyes and clear porcelain skin. He didn’t look his usual way today.. He looked extremely tired and out of it. He turned to all of us and said, “Alright class, take out your notes.” Mr. Andrews directed. Seconds after everyone started doing what he asked, which was odd because nobody ever listens. When the bell rang I collected all my stuff, and headed out towards my locker and to my satisfaction, Mike was standing there. I started to observe his facial expressions to tell what kind of mood he was in. Mike looked cheerful and happy, maybe it was because we were headed to my house. I jogged towards my locker and met his gaze, “Hey handsome.” I said. Mike reached down and gave me a kiss, this time it lasted longer, and we were basically making out for the whole student body to see. When he pulled away I smiled and turned to face my locker, then doing the combination to open my locker. 13.. 35..59. Click. I opened my locker door and to my surprise, a envelope fell to the ground. I looked around and noticed that Mike was chatting to his friend, Alaric, down the hall. I probably wasn’t paying attention, because I never heard him leave. I stuffed the envelope into my bag before he waved goodbye to his friend and walked back over to me. “You ready?” Mike asked me, and smiled. I gave him one in return and nodded, closing up my locker. “I thought we could walk to your house, instead, since it isn’t that far away.” Mike seemed like he wanted to talk to me. And if Caleb was home already, then that would be the only opportunity we would have. “Sounds wonderful. The weather isn’t as bad as it was yesterday, its sunny and most of the snow is already melting.” I wasn’t so sure why I was so excited about the weather. “Then lets go.” We started walking to the doors when I saw Micah standing there. “Waiting for a ride?” I asked Micah. I think I startled him, because he jumped. Once he figured out it was me, he just said “Yeah,” and looked back outside. Mike took my hand and we headed out of the school to walk to my house. “What all do you know about Micah?” Mike snarled. I was caught off guard by his snarl, I stopped and looked over at him. “Why?” “Just wanna know, Kati.” To me, it always made me feel nice inside when he called me by that silly little nick name. “I met him at the bus stop by my house on Monday and then again today, Mike. He wanted to know if I could show him around the school. He seemed lost, so I helped him out.” I gave a little too much attitude into that, I will admit; but he deserved it. “Easy Kati, I was only asking,” He put his hands up in surrender. I gave him a friendly punch, “Why did you wanna know anyways?” I asked politely. “There’s something odd about that guy. He comes across as arrogant and awkward. He either likes you or hes hiding something.” “Hes not hiding anything. And he doesn’t like me, he hardly even knows me!” I retorted. He sighed, “Its just an observation.” “So what are we going to do at my house anyways?” I said, trying to change the subject. I realized that I hadn’t payed attention to where we were walking, because I happily noticed that we were almost at my apartment. He shrugged, “Anything you want to do.” When we got to the door of my apartment, I turned the handle to see if it was unlocked or not. Yes! It was locked, meaning that Caleb wasn’t home yet. I got my key out of my bag and unlocked the door. Mike reached under my arm to open the door for me, and I stepped inside. I threw my bag into the closet by the door and put the keys on the side table. I turned around and Mike was still standing in the doorway. I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his neck while looking into his big beautiful brown eyes. “What?” He asked me. “Nothing, I’m just glad we did this.” I admitted. “Did what?” Mike said, confused. “Started dating, silly.” I responded. Mike’s gaze drifted from my eyes, to my lips, then to my eyes again. With one swift movement, he kissed me softly on my lips, and all I was thinking was how perfect this was. If you told me a week ago that me and Mike would be dating, I probably would’ve laughed and called you a liar. I pulled away from the kiss and lead Mike to the couch. “What do you want to do?” I asked him, grinning. “I was perfectly content kissing you.” He hinted. I was smiling like an idiot after Mike said that comment. I looked into his eyes and kissed him again, but this time we were interrupted by an opening of a door. “Okay, the girl totally was checking you out.” I recognized that voice, it was Caleb. Someone started to laugh at Caleb’s comment, and when the two guys turned the corner- I noticed it was Micah. © 2011 Plagued Monumentally |
