Medea- Darker than blackA Chapter by Plagued MonumentallyI imagine Medea looking like Number Six off of I Am Number Four. XDD I have no idea why, I think its just the fierce attitude about them. "Daddy?" Medea knocked softly on the hard door of her fathers bedroom. "Daddy, are you up?" Medea's dad, Valerius, groaned loudly and peered out through his half-opened eyes. "Medea, what time is it? If its before 9, I'm not going to be happy." His voice was raspy and cracked a couple times during the sentence. "You promised me that you would drive me to school today." Medea walked over to his nightstand and picked up the 5 bottles of beer and held them awkwardly in her hands. "Medea, I'm not feeling very well. Daddy stayed up late last night and I didn't sleep that good. You can drive yourself if you want, the keys are...uh, I think they're on the kitchen table or in my coat pocket." He closed his eyes again and sighed. "I'm not old enough to drive, dad. You should know that." She frowned and held onto the bottle that was almost about to fall out of her grasp. "You have your learners. You should be fine, as long as you know what you're doing, you'll be fine. Just go, please?" The bottle fell out of Medea's slippery hand and shattered on the floor. Valerius jumped up so fast that Medea was surprised he didn't get dizzy. "Damn it Medea! You always break things!" He quickly walked into the hallway, his two fingers on the bridge of his nose as he came back with a broom and dustpan. "I'm sorry- "Just give me a couple minutes. You already woke me up, I guess I can drive you to school. Just be more f*****g careful next time." He interrupted her with a snarky attitude that she hated to hear. Medea nodded, not going to let the tears come. She knew how much her dad hated it when women cried in front of him. He saw them as weak when they did that, which was something she had to get used to. She walked into her bedroom and put on soft music that always made her get lost in the lyrics rather than her own problems. The beautiful voice of Priscilla Ahn filled the silence around her and consumed all of her problems. I was a little girl, alone in my little world, who dreamed of a little home for me. I played pretend between the trees and fed my house guests bark and leaves, and laughed in my pretty bed of green. Medea closed her eyes as she danced softly and angelically around her room while she got out her clothes that she was going to wear. Opening her eyes, she picked out her favorite white buttoned up blouse, black denim shorts and the shoes she had since she was 14 and forgot the brand of it, since it wasn't written on the shoes anymore. She still felt pretty as she put up her long blonde hair in a bun, a couple of curly strands of hair fell by her face. She knew that one day she would find someone people talk about in books and she would find someone that people sang about in songs. I had a dream, that I could fly from the highest swings, I had a dream. Now I'm old and feeling gray, I don't know whats left to say about this life I'm willing to leave.
