lets just talk about how absolutely delicious this is!!! pulling phrases like fishes... goddamn that whole stanza is jealousmaking. also, it correlates exactly how i feel about writing. we can only offer criticis. on the form and function of a write, not the why of it
I try to encourage writers when I review, but this poem shows me a loving tenderness & acceptance & encouragement that I've never done becuz I never knew it could be done so sweetly! I think it's more important to be tuned into the magic that a writer is trying to share, more than seeing the mechanics of conveying a message. Practice can improve the mechanics, but it takes a fulsome wind of encouragement to harken that magic essence that can infuse a person's words (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
A special poem for a special lady, no doubt, unless … nah! 😏
Dear Crowley,
Being such a simple bard, much of poetic abstract is lost on me; yet, in this rather ambiguous piece I think a spark of understanding may have penetrated my thick skull … we'll see.
First-off, I particularly enjoy that you've composed this in the form of Poetic Prose Quatrains, and appreciate that each verse contains its own story, mood, feeling, emotion, thought, essence, etc; still, adhering to your title's topic (not an altogether easy task in a long piece), lending an appealing sense of pride, coherence, conscious thought, and quality to your work.
When one desires to inspire in another that depth of feeling, thought, creativity, and emotion which is perceived in them as uniquely theirs, to encourage them without encroaching on their individuality, or isolating them by virtue of their sensitivities … it can, indeed, require great skill in proceeding with kid gloves to succeed in that aim.
I believe you've done a splendid job of it, and I most humbly bow to your knack for utilizing a caring and gently empathetic tact in that endeavor.
I did wonder, in your penultimate line, if you intentionally meant "word"? Gotta find something to critique … LOL!
KUDOS to you, my keen-minded friend, not only in your methodology in giving, but in your skill as a fine writer of poetry … I feel inspired, myself!
A beautiful work, done with much thought and consideration … thank you for the inside smile.
Such a wondrous lady she must, indeed, be! ⁓ Richard 🍃
Your writing persona is so multifaceted...It's your eyes that allow a man to enter your thoughts (Woman thought) emotional payload (man phrasing) - it's wrapped all together is this perfect package.
I did like the poem. You led the reader to strong and positive ending and thoughts. Us, writers need to write what we feel and think. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

What beautiful imagery you serve up for the reader. Delightful and gentle. Certainly an inspiring and encouraging write for any poet. It's always in the words.

Never ceases to amaze me where the inspiration comes from.
. awwwwwwwwwwww ... it's a water colour painting ... pastel shades ... i could gaze at it for hours ... you write of sublime hues ... and ... the finishing touch of love ... amazingly beautiful and surreal ... congratulations ... this is the epic one ... cheers to the start of your publishing career ... and what a magical, loving and mesmerizing start it is ... you are a very cute and gifted squirrel, buddy ... :) ...
what I like best is the kind of menacing here. The more you repeat, "Don't let me tell you what to write," it translates into, "really write what I say." clever, clever, Rowley!
Like to hang out with other writers and see what's what. Have met a lot of good people on this and other sites through the years. Decided to come back and do a little posting and reading. Hit me up i.. more..
