Face the Facts?

Face the Facts?

A Poem by Crowley

Your charge, like that of the territorial Tern
Sharp rhetoric, force fed pious medication
Evangelical in shape
Twisting until my spine snaps
Was that a smirk
Flopping, I still don't believe
Sitting under your umbrella of judgement
I am satisfied and you are lost

Pious people get wet...
the rain misses the meek.
I have felt my spine snap all too often.
Maybe it is the spine of my books.
Judgement sucks, especially because most of the time it comes from those who are only hiding their own flaws and insecurities.

Truth is often dependent upon the believer in the making. Hope drives that train. Without faith we have no desire to try; without confidence, no ambition. But many people's "truth" only extends as far as their comfort zone. Established truth never exalts in judgement because it was self-fulfilling to begin with and has no need to proselytize or convince. Or as we used to say, "It is what it is."
