Just a Regular Cat

Just a Regular Cat

A Poem by Crowley

Wisteria, hysteria, hypertension, sex
I was genetically coded abstractly
Yet my intentions and longing are much the same as yours and a lions
In the evening my mind tells me I should be more...
In the morning my mind clouds the thoughts from the idealistic twilight
Focusing instead on bacon and eggs and someone else's dreams
When I sit and contemplate the nature of things
The cat is in a superposition of dead and alive
I can't help wonder in that other universe, the one with two moons
The one where my hair is better and my teeth are celebrity straight
I am, the cat

I enjoyed your lines here Crowley. I have come to the conclusion that cats have got it made. I'm coming back as a cat. Sleep all day, on the prowl at night,
rule the roost and they have nine lives. We pale into insignificance by comparison :)

This was an interesting viewpoint and a well-worded write. However, there is only one thing I would change, the title. After years of study, I have found that there is no such thing as a "Regular Cat". LOL --- Nice poem and I liked it!

what an excellent piece to ponder, I'll take some bacon and eggs, please.
Hold the dreams.

Cats are smarter than we might give them credit for....Eat, hunt, sleep sleep sleep.

A Crowly cat. Loved the 'superposition of dead and alive' line! So true. I've loved cats all my life so this brought a smile. I hope you're not feeding your cat people food?

Funny, I'm wearing a shirt with a cat (a lion actually) on it this very moment...actually a few moments since I showered today. My wife makes me. Oh man, bacon and eggs. I just bought two pounds of bacon today. It was on sale for $4.99 a pound. I wonder how many pounds a pound that is in English currency. I speak their language but not their money; strange thing, that. But I digress as I digest my bacon. I loved reading this. It was right up my alley-cat. I'd offer you a saucer of milk but the last aliens to visit took my only saucer. If I go where there are two moons I only hope there are curvaceous felines attached to them. Only in my dreams, of course. My wife doesn't permit me drooling until I'm just a wee bit older. Great read, wonderful write. What's not to love? Highest marks!
