The Gunslinger

The Gunslinger

A Poem by Crowley

He looked over the drop, dead, pan, fried

Knowing she wasn't his, hunt, lion, pride

Losing to love is not losing

Losing to love is only loss

The temporary thrumming

The incalculable mile

Many raindrops would fall

Before he found his smile

"Losing to love is not losing
Losing to love is only loss" --- Boy, you said a mouthful with those lines. Nice poem.

What a way to put the chronic feeling of emptiness and yearn for resurrection we feel in heartbreak. A stitched heart may not be as good as new, but it still beats.

Great as always,
Happy new year Crowley.

Thanks luv and Happy new year to you as well. I hope you are killing it!!
Eventually, after taking a hit, we can learn to smile again. No one wants to be the loser in love though. In the meantime, the raindrops will fall and there will be hurt. I think most of us have experienced this situation, at some point in our lives. Good to see a post from you Crowley. Happy new year.

Thanks Chris!!! Great to see you!
Yes many raindrops will fall in the wake of taking a loss to love. I can imagine we all have felt this before at one time in our life. But we do find our smile again great writing here and as always keep writing fellow writer.

You’re very welcome and hope you are as well
pride does get hurt when we lose in love...but living with the pride gives consolation from others, and reignites purpose.

You always have a good perspective Jacob. Rock on and thank you!
Raindrops hide many a pain.
You around, across and over heart break.
Great writing Crowley.
