Can I See Your Room?

Can I See Your Room?

A Poem by Crowley

I awoke this morning to see that my globe was the size of a marble. My dictionary was open to the page where the word foreign would be.  The definition was cut out. I looked out my window and saw my old friend from Laos.  She was no longer an emoji. I reached for her hand and for the first time, felt how small the world had become.

When a star contracts, a teaspoon of the stuff can weigh more than a thousand moons, the matter so dense that the individual atoms fall apart and magic happens. Let's hope we are headed that way.

a power punch ..the world. may
séem to shrink but there's
still a divided wide gap within

“I reached for her hand and for the first time, felt how small the world had become.” PERFECT outro … a line that tied this short but beautiful poem together. On a global scale, the world feels never ending. But we’re really all not that far apart … this one made me feel things…

Thanks! Just a little thought. I appreciate the review. Hope your weekend has been good!
I think the world is quite small these days....seems every conflict has some effect on the entire planet.

Does anybody have a magnifying glass? I cannot see the names of the countries very well on this marble.

Hi Crowley, as ever, you give food for thought.

In a way, we have become more and more interconnected with every passing year, 'tis truly a global village that we now inhabit. And yet, and yet, somehow, the gulf, the inequality betwixt the haves and the have not's, is if anything, wider now than at any time in the past.

Would that, 'Mi casa, su casa,' was a reality.

Beccy.

PS. Vastly prefer your dictionary to the OED. :))

So mysterious...lol. I will look up then..
at least you didn't lose your marbles:/ again I read another beginning of a book in your poetry:) This very thing happens to me all of the time but usually, with gravity one minute I will be walking along and step into a void and the next step my right foot will take off into the sky:? Now you've done it Crowley next thing my footsteps will get longer as the world shrinks underfoot
