First Ring

First Ring

A Poem by Crowley

I was hasty to have shared my feelings for you
The return on investment has been dismal
But, paying for emotional content on line can be risky
If I filleted my heart and served it carpaccio
Would you turn your nose up and request the chicken instead?
An after dinner mint to wash out my taste?
If you come around , call me
I will sleep with my phone beneath my pillow
And I will pick up on the first ring

We have all been there I'm sure Crowley.. laying our hearts out there in the hope of reciprocation. I hope she rang! 😉
"If I filleted my heart and served it carpaccio."..great metaphor! Love it!

The last two lines ripped my heart out of my chest. Love the tone and word choices in this poem, you are very gifted...

Thank you! Much appreciated!
Those last two lines are the heart-kicker... you always play in such joking tones, with the depth of the punch hidden beneath!!

That's it. Call the guys. Break out the cigars, Jack, and the cardtable, Jokers are wild.

If she orders the chicken, dump her. She is not worth it...but on the other hand if...
Invest in a second dinner with her.
