Idealistic SummerA Story by Crowley
This year’s answer...disenfranchisement.
Last year’s answer...disenfranchisement. Every second, every day, every year...disenfranchisement. “What is this greater good you talk about father?” “You wouldn’t understand.” “Father you are a lonely man, he, is a lonely man. I am a poor child father; they have poor children. Mother is dead in your eyes and more importantly in your heart even though she did her best to care for us. I ask again, what is the greater good?” Eyes, slipping like feet off moss covered river rocks. “Is it numbers father?” “Is it color father?” “Is it wealth?” He replied, but it was the wrong answer. “All of those and more.” I left that day, humbled by humanities weakness. I spent time searching for my own Bodhi tree, my own magic, emotional salve. The universe understood my mission, though I was a lifetime of experiences from any real understanding. On a rainy day in a small market in Riverside, an answer came to me. I walked home, crying for my father and all of mankind. “Father I have returned, can you see me?” “Yes. Very clearly.” “How are you father?” “Disenfranchised.” “I am sorry father. We will work on it together.”
