Blooming

Blooming

A Poem by Crowley

It took information, it always takes information. Rising like the water in a dammed lake during spring run-off.  Her choices were to ignore or consider.  That’s it. She could let the swirling information change her or not change her.  She could hold on tight, treading against the onslaught of new ideas, or flow and float and compare. When context and perception, perceived truth and faith, all coalesced in a building miasma of decadent possibilities, she could hold firm or take the thread and pull. When that damn starts to crumble, and the possibilities burst forth, she could start a process that would likely never end. An open mind gives birth to a freedom and resolve that winds its way through the cracks and crevices of a universe that asks of us only one question..."What do you believe in?

Author's Note

Crowley
“If we presume that the boundary of the universe is a kind of surrounding wall,
then we think like ancestors who thought there's abyss at the edge of flat earth.”

the pen will always be mightier than the sword and the universe is comprised of the collective total of subconsciousness's and imaginations throughout history and time, all wrapped in old newspaper and stuffed down the side of a leather sofa... You have a beautiful mind sir.. didn't they make a film about ya... :)

Wouldn't it be interesting, if, when we finally get to the boundary of the universe,(wish it would stop expanding,) we find a 24 hr McDonald's, staffed by some very strange looking beings; and the first customers we see, are, Spock, Kirk and Bones queuing up for a Big Mac and fries. That would some happy meal, wouldn't it.

Hows that for an open mind. :))

Just write her a poem, that'll even the playing field. :))
Wow, this is one helluva way to say "Don't think outside the box, think like there is no box."
I love how that thought tranfers to stop thinking thought is within the mind within us, but let the mind expand to everything we are, do, see, know... And beyond.
I better try tying a string to my thoughts, to stop them floating too far. Maybe a ropeso i can climb up to see where all the good ideas live 😀

I get the idea of letting the boundaries of the human mind, crumble opening up to new possibilities but for me it could also be the idea of the dam breaking and new ideas for writing, painting, storytelling break free from the confines of the mind and spill forth. Stunning and thought provoking

Well done Crowley. As a life-long fan of science fiction there are many things to consider...too many things not easily explained. The one thing we need to do is question the possibilities...do not close your mind to anything.
The best sci-fi from the past predicted what we have now, but since they are commonplace they don't seem unrealistic.

The universe is vast...we are small...but arrogant as hell.

i have always been one who thinks in those cracks and crevasses....and have always imagined anything is possible....mostly i tend to not discount anything and am open to suggestion?
there have to be universes next door, above, below...
something else is out there.....has to be.

oh i hope I never get asked that question :? just as soon as I think I believe in something another thing makes me question the belief... maybe if I had to answer that answer might be... in the evolution of belief:) I like the verbal image of a lake of information coalescing I can see books and paintings and pictures and poetry pooling around to crack thru it's confines to create new understandings and realities when it happens I hope it rains all over me my good friend Crowley:) nice to see you!!!
