Panda

Panda

A Poem by Crowley

You called me Panda last week and it stuck
I'm sure everything you say sticks
That aura is resplendent and unavoidable
Even the most hardened can't help but love you

I let the others buzz around your face
Knowing they can't help it and wait
My turn always comes and you focus on my desire
No matter how short lived, it fills my chest

You are masterful at spilling well-chosen details to tell a story packed with meaning. You paint a loving relationship in ways that actually make me wish I'd ever been in one (most love poems make me glad I never was!) I love the buzzing part . . . the polar opposite of jealousy or possessiveness & what an unforgettable way to express it! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Ach, you old romantic. I can't remember the last pet name I had, unless dipshit counts.
The comfort and warmth given by such a simple gesture as the sharing of names that only two know.
Simply elegance Sir.

She called you Panda. A sort of pet name. People only do that out of fondness. I hope she sticks around as she seems to ring your bell even though you have to wait your turn. Second stanza is so good.

Chris.

Along with a fine opening paragraph, I love the last paragraph;
And those last two lines are top-shelf writing.

Bravo, Crowley!

P.S. I'd drop that last single line. It's not needed, as the impact is there
without it.

My pleasure!
I liked this one...even a single sentence or word or emoji from the person that matters makes all the difference and if it meant in a sweet way...
I always liked pandas :)

pleasure my friend...
Your offerings always conjure up an incentive I wished were my own. Jacob described it perfectly. Wow, what an engaging perception you have!

Thanks Kelly!!!! It’s been good to see you!! Hope all is well.
interesting use of Panda....could be a pet name, and cute...they look like they are....but Pandas
are actually quite dangerous...
so this is interesting in the sense of the writer talking of love...but possibly having a hidden distaste...and wanting to lash out.
really like this piece, Crowley..

even though i am probably way off the mark...this is how it spoke to me.
