A gift for you and the way you tell me I am whole and
worthwhile, that smile penetrates
I adore the way you stretch to reach my thoughts instead of letting them come
to you
I made a comment about the way a stray dog is singularly focused on finding
food
You said that same dog would starve to death for just a little kindness and
love, I smiled
It is in your nature to draw a blanket of comfort and desire
about the shoulders of your love
Underneath that giving tree, the one by the lake where you look into the
reflection to find your words
And they shine, oh God do they shine, I feel like I have a pocket full of new nickels,
my coin collection
Every time I see your face it reminds me of the bright lights on the midway and their illusory
shimmer
I saw you for the first time and said hello You looked at me and asked if I had a light I carried your smile home and had dreams And awoke to an understanding of fate and infatuation
WOW! WOW! And WOW! Blows my socks off! I see you're on a far wander & might not be answering promptly (no worries). Such seriousness is rarely seen from you, but much delighted in, as we gobble up your sweetness. Who wouldn't want to be the special lady you share your life with? I love how your sentiments are carefree & not crafted. This feels sensually organic. Very happy for you, since it seems pretty clear this is autobiographical! *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

Sitting in the lounge of the riverboat, Germany on one side of the Rhine and France on the other. Well, this one was not straight autobiographical, there are pieces in there I guess, but my mind works more like watching a movie, I love to stretch out an emotion, in my mind perfect casting, perfect lighting and the little things like asking for a light that makes it just real enough. As for as poetry or prose poetry, very little of mine is autobiographical except the baseline emotion. TMI I know. Love ya!!!!

That's why I sometimes prefer a poem to a photo, becuz there are so many more ways to remember! Have fun! Thanks for sharing pics *smile*
i think a lot of people would starve to death for some affection...
it's a shame these days that people have to choose between getting needed medicine and eating.
but wow...perhaps i would give up both of those for some affection...yes, i would.
i really like your line about carrying the smile home...
nice stuff, Crowley...

A great write,a gem to read, love the narrative style and how the imagery and the emotions leap out the page. I like how the minds connect as one on reading.

...those sighs do say it all, without words. No apology needed...we're friends!
First verse snared me Crowley- a poetic description of a soulmate, of love as it should be. Your purity of imagery -Joyful, childlike, celebratory,ardent- the “ infatuation” of love-with love...A million fireworks seen in the depths of an eye. This is the beginning of it all written lyrically, poignantly in the authentic stream of consciousness delivery that it comes with. I know you have been there my friend, as have I. Brilliant write.

Fate and infatuation. A dangerous dance.
"I carried your smile home and had dreams

Woman control all things, maybe, men are like dogs begging for a bone. I enjoyed these words my friend. Made me think this evening.
