Sister

Sister

A Poem by Crowley
"

Dedicated to a friend

"

We all saw you in our dreams last night, the effect was calming

Taking the love and the light and giving it a three dimensional quality

You said to walk the path lightly, but with confidence, I didn’t hesitate

You touched the back of my head and saw the hope and created flow

Sister, where are your weary hands when the work is done

Granting so much to so many and asking nothing in return

Sister, where are your thoughts after soothing my fears

Showing the way when so many plant brambles at our feet

We all saw you in the reflection of the water in the morn, the effect was wondrous

Taking the tears and creating rivulets of love and light, satin

You said to give my heart to the depths and live vertically but with reach

You stared into my eyes and pulled out the deepest browns and translucent blues

Sister, you are the one who binds the now to the forever

Seeing the things that are but ghosts in the recesses of a diseased outlook

Sister, you are the one that ebbs and swirls, making words into wishes

Walking unseen through the hearts and minds of the ones who want to love

Awwww shucks...
This poetry of yours has a music inside of it that should be opened in what I am hearing as a grinding form of reggae...mournful ..yes..but then again there is also a feeling that this could have be written for earth or for a part of your life that came and went, leaving as a female would have left which often times leaves us devastated while grateful and understandingly worried as well. You have emotion here Crowley and a very deep and sincere concern between the lines, I hope she's fine as well btw. Few come into our lives like that sudden rain and ask nothing more but to be a part of our support.
You've taken this reader and given him more than mere paper cuts, I'll raise a glass for "sister" and her well being with you. A wonderful write and tribute and I thank you for sharing.

It's been a while since I've seen one of your poems where you alternate regular font & italics. In the other poems like this that I've read, there's a pronounced difference in the way your two parallel stories are told in one poem. But in this poem, I find the two sides of this story are melded into one coherent flow . . . it's not like you're taking us on a side trip with your italicized refrains. Other that that overly anal analysis, your poem is a precious message that any friend would be totally honored to have written for her. I love the way you title this poem. I believe the siblings we adopt are often the best siblings we ever have. I love the way you approach the people in your life! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Very nice greiving poem. I lost my sister to a murder and I still can't forget. She was only a teenager.
