What I Need

What I Need

A Poem by Crowley
"

Too aggressive?

"
A mark on the face of forever would surely fade when you forget the heat of my presence
I stack words like boxes, and store them for inspection but the pages get moldy
I long to paint pictures that change a man's span and depth to more like that of a woman
A slap in the face is easier to take when it is dealt with compassion and admiration

Are you the one who whispers such sweet desires to the wind?
Are you the one who provides a glimpse into lusts cosmos?
Are you the one who runs and hides when I come calling?
On the inside you blaze and recede, heart and soul a pile of worthless slag

I took what was mine once and my feet became tangled in the prophecy
I tripped and never stopped falling until last week, a look in the mirror hastens
With rock solid footing I call out her name and pull her to my loins, aching
And the magic of the coupling begs and swirls to a tune of sweet redemption

Are you the one who cracks a mans spine to rebuild?
Are you the one who programs with fingers that grip?
Are you the one who drains my contempt with a stroke?
On the inside you stoke the embers with breath that smells like sex

My path is clear and your intentions are understated
Can you please tell me your desire or stir the winds on another plane
I am busy taking what I need

not sure what you mean about men having depth and span. men are poets and thinkers, and we were always so - even artists.

Not to bad Crowley. Hope all is well your end.
Some fine and thought provoking lines in this read. There will always be givers and takers. The takers aren:t always of the male persuasion. Takers are selfish, thinking only of themselves and what they can get out of a situation. Givers are far more considerate of the needs of others. I have to say I have seen an increase over recent years in the number of female takers. I wonder why that is? Are women becoming more aggressive?

Those are some great words, man. Says so much, so indirectly, yet hits the mark unfailingly.
Great work, Crowley!

thanks Angel!!! I appreciate the review and the visit!
I thnkyou hit the nail(s) on the head with the difference between mars and venus, compassion and want. Women have both, men have one, and even then, part of us (we all know which part) sees the lines blur between want, need and to an extent, our needs and want are selfish. (sorry guys, I know im letting the team down.)
On the plus side though, this is not a judgement of you, but a judgement of my own warped and twisted male brain, and where it took your words. It's why guys dont go to clairvoyants, no chance we will let anyone open up that pandoras box :)

Is there a point where your spirit is not aggressive? I think the value is misplaced between want and need...for one is expected and the other desired. The answers lie before the the questions...already answered. Her hand cups the warm heat of desired servitude and balances it out with a forehead kiss...Im busy giving ....so I can take what I want....
