Sunflower

Sunflower

A Poem by Crowley
"

We can be different...

"

I carried you in my pocket that day and you were content
As long as I let you out to see the comings and goings of the circus folk
You said being small had its advantages and I agreed
Although the dangers were  clear every time I reached in my pocket for my cell phone
At the end of the day I would sit you on the table and stare at the wonder of your beauty
Scale had nothing to do with it as long as we could laugh and talk the hours away
You asked me how we would have sex and I told you I didn’t know but we would figure it out
At bed time you made a nest of my chest hair and told me lay flat
I would forget and you fall to the sheets with a puff and punch me in the side
I was big, you were small, but the universe doesn’t dwell on that
