You Don't Tell Me...

You Don't Tell Me...

A Poem by Crowley
"

Hell yeah...

"

Folded like the crease in gangland Chinos

Your mind dips lower than an election year politicians virtues

Creating a halo around the campsite shitter

Convincing everyone that it smells like money and sex

Pop the truth

An ugly blister

French kissing black lips, the reapers' sister

Pull the lie

Expose the muscle

Running the most elaborate hustle

You choose what you write.....

Mending the fence when the course gets too heavy

Drinking your coffee from old poets cups, cowboy style

And spitting out volumes that fall on sensitive ears

Riding shotgun in the onyx beast, you weaping Chivas

Cap the punk

Wear his hat sideways

Etching out grooves on life's shadowed highways

Pinch the ducket

Grating the raw nerve

Throwing the masses a down and out curve

You don't tell me, I tell you.....

Its interesting that an ex pat Englishman who considers himself now a Scot can get so much out of this. It has lines that I will remember for a long time and already wish I had written myself.. You have invented a new style. Lets call it Excellent anger.

C,
There are some great lines in this piece . . . "gangland chinos", the "halo", "drinking coffee from old poet's cups, cowboy style." There must have been some of those magic mushrooms ingested around that campfire!!!! I'm assuming this poem is about another poet whose work is in Italics?! Maybe this was a 'scream' of consciousness!!!???

You write you want for sure, but you have to ask yourself, did you write it and know it would be excellent or not? I find this work to be strange, off-beat yet excellent. It's terse, blunt and uncompromising. I love the line about drinking from the cups of old writers, which reminds me of how we probably base our own works on how past writers have written. Overall, you scored a hit. Nice work here.

Hell F*****G yeah Crowley! My 4 year old granddaughter gives face just like that pick:) I feel like this was an argument with yourself and somebody just happened to be in the way during the throws. But the anger in it is palpable and clear and the message is golden! And hell f*****g yeah your right brother
