She Grows Cars

She Grows Cars

A Poem by Crowley
"

Don't trifle with the muse.

"

If I have said one thing in my life

That has been the cause of another man’s inspiration

To write something so longing or so sad

Or something that seethes magic or irreverence

It is only because she taunts me squarely

Her long legs and high a*s dressed in candy

Lips smooth like the reddest of red carnival glass

Hips custom made for resting my cheek on

She busies herself about the yard

Gathering the seeds I require

Those high heels aren’t for weeding

They are merely there because they match my ears

She places the seeds, burying them with lithe fingers

Tipping the watering can and whispering my name

From the ground sprouts a 65’ Mustang convertible

She glances furtively over her shoulder to see my smile

She is my muse and suffers a fate

Worse than any woman should need endure

Keeping me interested enough in myself

To write my lust as reflected in her eyes

She grows cars

I'd like a '69 429 Boss Mustang in hi-gloss black. I'll send over a few cases of Miracle Grow and some potting soil. ;) This was pretty cool. I think my muse grows impatiens or impatience, maybe both. I enjoyed the read.

I wonder if this will help bring the price of those things down
Let me know if you plan on selling!!

What an extraordinary imagination you have! The ending came as such a surprise I called WOW! not a word I use generally! But start to finish, each stanza showed the need for and inspiration of that woman.. she could rock your boat and crown you king in one thought. Better still, she gives you what you've always wanted..love and power!

If I have said one thing in my life/That has been the cause of another man's inspiration

as superb an opening as any I've read. A true jealousy-inspiring image my friend.

She grows cars ...INDEED

great to see you back MR C

Oh, I did enjoy this. Mystical surreal and yet grounded. Creative and wholly bleievable. It has it all. A wonderful bit of relateable poetry.

Seething magic, check 😀
Now in place of a review, I have accidentally caught myself in a catch 22/ paradox type thingy (my muse is nowhere in sight, can you tell?)
I just need to figure out if she guided you to this, you guided her, or both 😀
From the title I wondered where it would go, but your/ her original spin on things would have needed three hail Mary's and a divining rod to guess.
I love this and its originality, running through emotions like they're on spin cycle and taking us down a path we never knew existed.
Although completely original and unique, it did make me think I heard E Noodle laughing and clapping at the end. Completely intended as a compliment as he is an original talent too.
You've certainly inspired me into letting that pen/muse/ me combo do its thing without worrying where it takes me.
I bet you smiled when you wrote this. I would 😀

Crowley, it's great to see you back here. It's been a while. What a comeback you have made with Growing Cars:) Your muse is certainly unique, a one off. She works just for you and aren't you the lucky one. You know I am smiling at the wackiness of this write and your posted image. If only eh? You are right about that. Happy Sunday from across the waters.

This is absolutely superb Crowley a most original conception & as soon as we complete the involuntary detention documents (we call em section papers over here) and ya tell me where you keep ya note pad we shall think about releasing the cuffs... until then, you stay in isolation with all the other car nivors...

Joking aside, and having thought about it since my first read, two things spring to mind
Firstly, just how bloomin good 'She Grows Cars' is and .. Secondly, absolutely never mess with da muse.... Oh' and for what its worth.. I have seen a vegetable version of your avatar mate...

Take care squire,

Neville :)
