Traces of Trio

Traces of Trio

A Poem by Crowley
"

A bevvy of shorties

"

Playing Misty

She was a precious vapor trail

Too light to love completely

But I did, evenly and without remorse

Havoc

Acting on insider information

I ate whatever was left of your tortured life

And created fields of violent red poppies

Aspen

In aspen the women shop in furs

And curse the tourists face

While pocketing their blood, sweat and tears

Well of course Havoc is gonna be my favorite...just from the meaty hungriness of it all and those red poppies...who can resist?...aren't poppies a death flower somewhere...hmmm I know gardenias and carnations :)

Very intriguing and creative write giving us a short walk down a romantic memory lane. I thought your descriptive phrases were simply awesome.

Hey, as far as Tuesdays go, not too bad cheers.... Neville
Usually I’m not a fan of shorter poems becuz many writers do not maximize meaning, which is the point of short poems for me. Here you’ve passed the test, in that each of your poems conveys VOLUMES in such an amazingly brief few lines! First one – reminds me of how I used to be & how guys probably related to me, being commitment-phobic but playful as hell (good meaning, but not your most powerful statement of the three). Second one – mind-blowing & powerfully stated! Line 2 is such a creative way to say what happens to so many of us. Line 3 is brilliant in striking imagery with thought-provoking intrigue. Truly my favorite of the three. Third one – so true & so caustic & so poignantly reflecting the current state of “rich vs middle class” in our country. This is a killer observation, but not expressed quite as brilliantly as the second one. All are excellent idea pops & somehow they go together (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

A slight touch of cynicism - don't remember that in the old days!!!

There's a cleverness here, however, could I a mere woman, comment!? Crisp, concise, and yes, a little frolic..

No comment, jokingly. But seriously.. there's some interesting perspective here and there.
How can there possibly be so many types of women? And so little time to get to know them.
