Aside from the fascinating painting, I just loved where this darkly surreal poem took me; though I confess my interpretation is perhaps more from personal instinct than a full understanding of the meaning behind your words.
In both life and love, it has rarely worked both ways; and particularly in life, those 'petulant souls and greedy whoremongers' have long ensured that the toll for crossing is dear and gets dearer by the day.
More is the pity, you are right about those men in white coats and the futility of it all.
The bridge is always greener on the other side, or something similar. This reads like it's part fantasy, part nightmare from the first line (Or maybe that's just my interperatation, having become a tourist in similar nightmare/panic dreams, where the only place the bridge takes me is down, as it crumbles to dust beneath my feet. Aargh!)
Insane naked women dancing you say? And just how exactly would one find such a bridge? 😀
Really enjoyed where your words took us Crowley.
Sounds to me like you are no stranger to visiting the darkside 👺
Temptation is always that glossy b***h in stilettos you want to bend over the desk so you don't have to look directly in her eyes....but oh what alluring eyes she has....

No there is a visual!!! But for me it starts with eyes no matter what!!
Wow a different take on the reality of crossing over the bridge of life... You had a way of telling here and now it makes me take a renewed look at this bridge... Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much for the read, that one was form a prompt of a painting with a bridge.

Wow, this utterly captivating and brilliant in both imagery and impeccable metaphor. I was completely taken away by your writing.. clear, stunning, passionate and very visual. Loved my first reading of you!

Thank you so much. I really appreciate the read. Have great weekend!
Breasts like tea cups and the lady with a doorknocker between her thighs got my attention. Sounds a bit like some places I went when in the Navy. (It's easy to be unwise when you're drunk.)

I resemble that remark...lol. Thanks for the review, I appreciate it!
sexual undertones...but that idea of being enticed to the other side, and once we are, the bridge burns behind us and there is no going back...
we must tread carefully when it comes to love...what is on the other side of that bridge is slightly in the distance and may look better from afar. Clever wording in this.

Was inspired by a painting, thanks so much for the review, I appreciate it!!
This was a good write. It has its arm in the watery mirror like a traveler through the Stargate. I wonder if crossing will really get us anywhere...I think there may be a trick hole in the middle to get people stuck! I know it's awfully hard to turn back. I must be off now. The men in white coats are here with my medication. Cheers.

Ha!!!! Glad your still spinning around here, and thanks so much for the read!!
Wow. Your writing is truly amazing. The word choice paints a twisted picture of something akin to a dark fairytale. Gives off sort of an H.P. Lovecraft vibe - I love it!
