Not My Prince

Not My Prince

A Poem by Hermione TC Lai

Yes,

You heard me.

I am Not your princess.

I never trust a playboy,

But you love me.

I let you think

you’ve saved me.

He can never guess

what I’d do next.

This is how my kingdom works:
Girls must leave before getting stranded.

Do not blame me,

Your love does not

make me crazy.

You must be

doing something wrong;

I must be

doing something bad.

I’m not yours to keep,

Because we’ll never get far.
