Where I'm From

Where I'm From

A Poem by Andie

I’m from the black and white photographs on our walls

Of Renaissance women and heroes’ falls

From recurring dreams of Harvard Yard

From four different copies of Beedle the Bard

I’m from Ann’s adopted daughter

From the brave soldiers who fought her

From a 1920s woman in pants

With itchy feet and a gun in her hands

I’m from Henry Adams and Edith Squires

From California’s wildfires

From William, Wilson, Willis and Willard

From nearly beating ‘Machine Gun Lou’  at Billiards

Author's Note

Andie
I have endnotes, because I did this as a school project. Should I leave the story behind this up to the imagination, or should I publish it along with it?
