who i am

who i am

A Poem by Lise
"

and in this moment, my identity is solid.

"

She has found herself. Here, in this moment.

A jolt of alarm and what feels a little like dread consume her briefly - a panic  and a ‘what have I done’ moment - before she is off, feet carrying her with frightening speeds, no trace of the ever-present fatigue and pain. She is smiling, a wide smile, and she feels disturbingly complete; feeling a little dirty, loaded with adrenaline, and on a short, sharp drop into what could only become a chaotic mess.

She feels reckless as she fumbles with the latch on the gate " like she can take over an entire world and then set it on fire, watching it writhe and burn.

And when she slips into the house, she slips the moment into her pocket, falling seamlessly into a breathless masquerade of herself before " before all this, before that one moment.

She has found herself. And she is more than satisfied.
