Exodus

Exodus

A Poem by It Broke Me
"

What do you want?

"

[..Trapped. Isolated. Alone...].

Held down by the chains of humanity.

Held down by the human vessel.

Held down by the shell of us all, the sanctuary of the species.

All you need is at your disposal.

All you have to do is imagine.

You can ascend to the highest peaks, or sink to the lowest valleys.

All with a single thought.

All with a single idea.

You can even transcend time itself, if that is what you wish.

There are no constraints to hold you back.

There is no one to stand in your way.

It’s only you, and whatever it is that you wish to become.

All that you want and seek and long for,

everything, it can be yours,

if you can just imagine it to be so.

There is a longing that flows through the fluid of your words however with the hope and mystic ability to be whatever you want and yet held back with a timid hurt that means we hold ourselves back with the charred wings we hold close to our heart. We stand in our own way and if we brush ourselves aside and believe in the hope that lives we can be whatever we want to be and do whatever we yearn to do. It is society and the wold surrounding that holds us down and quells the potential but it is the lines that separate the sanity and reality which merge together a desired limitless life.
