I Am...

I Am...

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah

I come from rural mountains and crisp Scottish air,

I come from the brunette lasses who wander without a care.

I come from haggis, whiskey, and ale,

I come from the big man with an even bigger tale.

I come from the religious and the coward,

I come from the man taking two steps backward,

I come from abuse, pain, and bleeding,

I come from the wife, quietly retreating.

I am the echo over the trailer tops,

I am the night wanderer, rarely taking stops,

I am the first swig from a ice cold keg,

I am an evening fist-fight at The Peg.

I am the whine of an electric guitar,

I am the purr of a classic car,

I am the counselor to many,

I am the consoler of any.

Im the first hymn at midnight mass,

I am the ribbons in the hair of a lass,

Im Irish pride and Scottish freedom,

Im the bells in Dublin, can ya hear 'em?

This is what I am and more,

This is what makes my heart soar,

The world isnt big enough for me,

This is the person I want to be.

Hannah, I Am, very impressed with all that, You Are.
The one thing you forgot is that you're, a great writer.

You really have some sand in your soul.
What a captivating spirit you have!

Very well done!

This is definitely a poem of epic proportions. You really said a lot.
Your poem covers every emotion. This is definitely going to be a
request at St. Paddy's day.
