Bloody Wrists

Bloody Wrists

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah

Sunrise over the hills
Many see beauty
I see only pain
The horror on their faces
My unreeling shame

Im not proud of what I am
It’s my worst nightmare of all
I hate this monster that inhabits me
I am my own downfall

Precious rubies
Drip from your wrist
I catch each jewel with my tongue
A taste I won’t soon forget

Every full moon I stare at the sky
And watch so slowly as stars go by
I wonder where you are or where your spirit will fly
The shapes of wolves pass by here
I sense you are close
I can’t quite hear you
But I sense you are near

I may be dead
My soul is burned
But until I wake from this nightmare
Your love and your heart will be mine to keep

When I feel you next to me when I wake each night
The moon changes your natural shape
The darkness over takes us and drains my might
But as long as I can feel you
Im safe from my desecration

My habits don’t kill you
My fears you can handle
You’re my dream in every way
Don’t ever leave me any day
