Rambling Drunken Man

Rambling Drunken Man

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah

What is the meaning of this life?

We all are meant to curl up and die,

or is there something beyond the grey,

beyond the horizons,

beyond the pass of the mountains tall,

or beyond the caverns mighty stone wall,

I wonder why,

In such a sad voice,

the child cries to me.

She screams,

but I cant hold her.

She weeps,

but the flames surround her.

Oh God of my fathers,

and all the saints above,

pray for us, and may mercy rain,

for the flower is dead unless tended,

it wilts and dies, the scent floats on,

to drift away and bless some foreign land,

with the faded sweet scent of an angels kiss.

My blade it cuts even deeper still,

digging and pressing

the metal answers to its own will.

Can love have a master?

Can the sharpest blade be tamed?

I think not.

Life.......

The meaning is all the same.
