These are the Nights

These are the Nights

A Poem by E.j.aka.Hannah
"

Im not really sure if this even sounds good, I just like to write down my thoughts and hope they turn out good.

"

Do you remember the days of summer?

The evenings were longer

and the nights were warmer,

and as we rode along in the back

of your old 96 Camino,

all I could think was,

These are the nights that last forever.

I can still see,

your arms tight around me.

Even the indian girl,

resting so peaceful

in the skin of your arm,

seemed to sing along with me as we screamed,

"turn the radio up my friend"

and all I could hear, and all I could think,

was these are the nights that last forever.

The wind eventually died,

and when we layed in the green green turf on

the outside of our quiet town,

all I can remember thinking is,

"this must be what heaven feels like."

and if it is,

then that Jesus must be one hell

of a lucky son of a b***h.

You wrote down what was in your heart and that is all that matters. Sometimes reflecting on good times in the past makes my eyes tear. It's a beautiful thing. You captured the emotion quite well. Although I'm not offended by this, the last two lines really do not fit (in my opinion). It's too in-your-face. Overall, however, this is a beautiful piece. Kudos
