Piecemeal

Piecemeal

A Poem by Scott Troy

Ghosts in the walls
Semi permanent
And fingers through your hair
Sanguine
Ruby red and delicate
Passionate and distant
Hushed rumors of inconsistent love
Shattered talk of a future
Like polished wood grain
Sheer an smooth
Yet terribly forgettable
A grim fairytale
Hearts crossed
Heavy with turmoil
Eyes sewn shut
Pride and ego the thread.
Were our hearts
Truly a factor
Strained in extremis
Apparent in the midst if this
My journals a quiet sonnet
Anger the generous tonic
If you pray
Then let go
If i may
Ive grown
Stronger
Dedicated
Moving forward
My heart hopes so
