Honestly

Honestly

A Poem by Scott Troy

You raise me.
You push me
I feel
I cry out in earnest
Psalms of you
My heart
The song I love
Your worth is measured in
Not what you do for me
Your value lies in what you mean to me
A decadent sunrise
I think of you
I can feel fingers graze my face
You numb stress
You are the embodiment of ease
I am flawed
Yet, I awake every morning in awe
A mind slayed by thoughts of you
Of us
We will never be ordinary
Neither fetid nor boring
My heart
We were never worlds apart
I've bared my heart in extremis
I pledge myself to you
Because I mean this....
