Mutatio

Mutatio

A Poem by Scott Troy

Behold a metamorphosis.
Butterflies with silver wings.
Mute words and decadence.
Hearts beating just for this chance.
A steady calm.
A defense built on protecting a heart.
An offense built burying emotion.
Two marytrs.
I've not forgot the lessons.
Build a life an trust that you will be there for me.
I've long since cast aside the old feelings which drove me to apathy.
Short comings that were shortly upcoming.
Like Listerine for the soul.
You are the heart beats that I know.

Oh, this is edgy, dark and cynical. I love its subtle jabs from a place longing for direct passion and compassion-fantastic!
