Hold My Hand Forever

Hold My Hand Forever

A Poem by Helen Woodward

Photobucket

Sun rays prickle my skin

Or is it the nearness of you

The touch of your hand so warm

The heat of your lips on mine

And the look in your eyes

The one you keep in your top left hand pocket

For me alone

It is all those things

Outshining the sun as always

In my minds eye I see you before me

In tropical splendour we bathe

Beneath a God-given waterfall true

Touching you makes me shiver

It isn't the cool water

But your waiting embrace

Your arms around me at last

As it should be

As it will always be

As long as the waterfall flows

And the ocean pounds against white cliffs

So is my heart yours

You know...

No more tears of sadness only joy

In the gift that has been given us

Bountiful full blown love

So blessed are we

That 'thank you' isn't enough

It will never be enough

Never!

Hold my hand forever would you?

How you fill your words with an extravagant canvas of love and light. There is the sweet essence of all the joy and peace that flow into a life of love.

Valentine's day today, and what a beautiful image of love; love that lasts forever. You connect the world's wonders and love's elegance so perfectly. xo

I really liked the time comparisons. Pretty much as long as the world will still turn you will always love that one person. I know that feeling really well. This poem was just beautiful and well written.

' As long as the waterfall flows .. And the ocean pounds against white cliffs .. So is my heart yours ..
You know... '

This is love.. endless, true, sweet and obviously reciprocal. Beautiful writing, meaning and more.

(Great graphic!)

Love is such a wonderful thing...and you capture it so well here...the quirkiness and tenderness...those little intimacies known only between two...inside jokes and smiles...even a certain "look" might betray an inner thought that is passed so casually it wouldn't be caught by another. It's all those things that make us want to stay in a relationship forever. I enjoyed.

Terrific love poem. I especially like the idea of the look he keeps in his pocket just for her.
