TELL ME HOW

 

 

TELL ME HOW DO I HEAL

NOW THAT YOU HAVE GONE...

AND HOW I HAVE WISHED TO KNOW

WHY THE STARS SHINE

 

 

TELL ME WHY YOU BROKE MY HEART

INTO A MILLION PIECES AND

TELL ME WHY I HAVE TO CRY SO

MANY MANY TEARS

 

 

YOU MADE ME OPEN MY HEART YET AGAIN

WHICH I VOWED I'D NEVER DO

 FOOL THAT I AM I WANTED TO

BELIEVE SO MUCH IN YOU

 

 

ISN'T THERE ANYONE I CAN TRUST WITH

MY HEART ANYMORE?...

THE ROSE HAS DIED ON THE VINE

AND IS MOURNING SO FOR YOU

 

 

THE PETALS ARE FALLING WITH EACH

MORNING DEW

IF YOU HAD ONLY GIVEN ME A CHANCE

TO PROVE I WAS THE ONE FOR YOU

 

 

 YOU WERE BLIND TO SEE THE LOVE

OFFERED AND HELD OUT IN TENDERNESS

GOODBYE MY LOVE FOREVERMORE

I'LL NOT WORRY YOU AGAIN

 

 

IN LONELINESS I'LL LIVE A LOVELESS LIFE

UNTIL THE ANGEL OF DEATH CALLS ON ME

AND I'M IN MY EARTHLY GRAVE

WAITING FOR PARADISE

 

 

PLEASE THINK OF ME AND WHAT MIGHT

HAVE BEEN BEFORE YOU CLOSED THAT DOOR

SPRINKLE ROSES INSTEAD OF DIRT

Well bugger me!!! What a fool. I hope this is fiction, but I feel it is too heartfelt. Beautifully written with sensitive prose throughout, you have more than met the requirements needed for the contest...Love can be such a cruel and isolating emotion when what it should be is warm and close...no goodbyes and broken hearts falling all over the pavement...loved it 'sob'

Interesting font, Helena.. suggests determination to move on rather than extreme sadness. Such tragic thoughts expressed in your own special way.
