HENRY THE EIGHTH

A Poem by Helena

Written for Sal Amico's Form Challenge 'THE CLERIHEW"

King Henry the Eighth

Great defender of the faith

Loved many women and took them to wed

But alas, along with the ring the poor wives lost their head !

I think you do very well to keep the rhythm going in that final line. It looks like it shouldn't work but it does in a very odd, noticeable way.
