BROKEN SPIRITSA Poem by HelenaMy tribute to a wonderful woman
BROKEN SPIRITS
The homeless and destitute called you “little mother” Into the slums of India you brought the light of God Fed the hungry, welcomed lepers and bathed their sores ~ ~ Tiny in stature, big of heart Frail, strong on compassion Tenacious, humble Prayer your fortitude…. Hard unrelenting work your life ~ Never ceasing in God’s will You were an angel among the broken bodies and spirits Administering aid to the unwanted and ‘untouchables’ Soothing the anguish of a forgotten humanity ~
Tiny babies and children held in your arms Felt warmth and love for the first time The crippled and the blind given shelter from the street The dying left this world blessed and no longer unloved ~
Your life mission fulfilled by example and devotion Compelling your Sisters to carry on your Mission Heaven called you home….
We call you Saint Teresa ~
