SNOWFLAKES

Swirling snowflakes show their secrets

I hear them whisper

as they softly sway

leaving patterns in the snow

sleet stirs autumnal colors

muddied from footsteps

fashioned by teardrops

fake diamonds differ

interred in a snow-dome

shards shatter sharp

frozen concepts

drop by fragile drop

tears sting my eyes and

are swept away on

a carpet of white lies

Wow, such vivid imagery that you've described here...it amazes me with the detail that you have imprinted in this work of 'art.' Your words have so much truth to them, especially the last lines with the white lies; it was simply astounding, and I believe that you did very well in writing this piece of poetry. I look forward to more of your writes, and thank you for livening up my night! This truly was a work of art, and a great blessing for me having read such a wonderful thing.

BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN. I LIVE ON THE 9TH FLOOR OF MY CONDO AND THIS PAST WINTER WHEN THE SNOWFLAKES WERE FLOWING DOWN TO THE GROUND IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. WE ALWAYS THINK OF WINTER AS BITTER COLD AND NEGATIVE. BUT IN FACT IT IS BEAUTIFUL. THANKS FOR SHARING. HUGS AND LOVE .. ALICEANN

The ever changing landscape of human emotion and purpose for life is as ever changing as the swirling snowflakes. The beauty of a snowflake for a moment in time will be remembered for a lifetime as we remember those fleeting moments of emotion that we call love. Beautiful Helena...and sad. I can feel the pain.
Love...Liz

Quite a stunning write. I love your use of language in this piece with the bits of alliteration. I believe you mean to say 'patterns' in the fifth line. Great poem. Truly inspirational. Thank you.
