THE AWAKENINGA Poem by HelenaTHE AWAKENING
When did my senses start to fill to overflowing Like the trickle of a gentle stream over mossy ferns Gathering momentum to spill into a crystal lake of longing?
When did the shine of the moon and stars take On a special glow against the blackness of the night?
When the rain starts to pour against the window sill lightning and thunder start their symphony Why do I find it the sweetest sound in the world?
The fragrant rose seems headier to me this springtime.... the sun warmer... the winters’ cosier... The autumn leaves a brighter hue...
Why do I feel like singing all day long dancing in the street in the rain Getting giddy on a ferris wheel eating fairy floss buy fairy dolls on sticks, trinkets at a country fair?
Oh, to run barefoot in a forest of ferns, lie in a field of lavender all day long with buttercups gathered with glee sun in my hair watching the bees and butterflies fly free
Why do I feel so alive when I could have done all this before? Because I never knew the worth of all these joys before I met you ~
