Plot

Quinlan McCormack, a pacis lamia vampire, and Devany Byrne, an ordinary human girl, were connected by fate the night the boy witnessed his grandfather mark the baby girl as the bridge between her world and his. Years later, that mark made the town of Williams look upon the young girl as cursed and she was rejected by all, except for her parents. A decision made by her parents took her to Anderson County to start a new life and there she met Quinlan.

 

The young vampire had grown up with a deep interest in humans, but his one attempt at making friends with them had failed miserably. The two soon became good friends, but they kept the truth about themselves hidden to protect themselves. As Devany worried over how her new friend would react if he ever found out about her curse and the vampire wondered if she could be the first human to accept him as he was, circumstances and people that could one day endanger the young girl’s life were closer than anyone realized…
