First Frost

First Frost

A Poem by Jared Nolis
"

A crisp clear winter morning

"

darkness lingers cold as dawns frost covers all can see

like frosting this white frost layer a top layer blanket

walking amidst ever crisp air by yonder giant pine tree

stopping ever briefly to gaze upon crystal sea of ice set

sun crosses horizon's frame casting bright radiant light

reflecting upon frozen crystal ice like glowing in lights grace

gazing out eyes scan sleeping slumbering beautiful sight

moving on the air grows colder sharper stinging my face

as if the world frozen in time as the second passed did freeze

amidst upon frozen ground lays a beautiful firm fragile flower

with clearest clear skies few clouds linger in soft gentle breeze

passing across my face as sun's light illuminates revealing God's power

stillness echoing silence sets in with slightly gently ears does fill

sitting watching moments pass slowly gazing upon frozen still
