“Touching Grace”

To the cross

you lead me

Willing going

to remember you

My knees grow

weak as distance fades

Drawing closer

Your light consumes my being

Chains and heavy heart

fading melting as I near cross shadow

Slowly painfully I leave my

painful chains and weighted burdens

One by one piece by piece

my heart my soul lies pinned

To your beautiful wonderous

peaceful sacred place as your voice

Whispering upon the wind

catches my eyes with blinding light

You are no longer there

no longer upon the tree with nails for me

I reach out to touch the cross

as your freedom and peace wash over

As a wave from mighty sea

it calms the storm and true thirst of my soul

Crying out with all my strength

“I am yours I am yours!” my eyes seek your face

but stillness calmness sets in like calm

before storm as thunder drowns out my voice

Clouds give way to heavenly presence

as powerful mighty gently fierce hand rest upon shoulder

“I AM here, I AM here blessed child”

and turning to embrace loving Jesus touching grace

In this world we may have struggles and hardships, there may be days when all our strength is spent and we meet the end of ourselves"but such a glorious day!  For in our ending we put to death our old self and am set free for Jesus came to set the captives free; and we are to be free indeed.  I am happy to have weaknesses, to fail, to fall short in life for I know that Jesus Christ loves me not my accomplishments and He would see me free, not partially free but completely and utterly free, it is to this freedom I work and put forth effort that anyone who knows me knows of the blessed hope and greatest freedom that is in Jesus.  Letting go of what I think my life should like is liberating, for now I seek approval of men but of God.  Being broken of control of my life I see the value of surrendering control of all my life to our God the Father, Holy Spirit and Son Jesus Christ.  Such glorious peace is found in the Spirit and surrendering control of one’s life handing it over to Jesus, as He transforms me from the inside out with radiant light.  This peace has brought about such joy, being filled like a cup that overflows, I am undone by God’s unending joy! So, when this world knocks you down run to the cross, and appreciate how much the LORD our God loves us, run to Jesus and find peace and freedom.
