Stages

Stages

A Poem by heido

As a child I indulged

I stamped my feet on hard earth to get what I want

I blead from the knees

Ate from the earth and swallowed with great joy

As a teen I learnt of love

I cried and pounded my fists into the drywall

I blead from the wrists

And ate all of my words

As a woman I indulged

I grinned and bit my lip to bring him nearer

I have bruises between my thighs and whimpers in my ear

I swallowed whole his passion

I have become a Magdelene

And made a Gomorrah of my flesh

The slow development of what you have become.

This is a gripping poem. It was sad to see the innocence lost, but you portrayed
life perfectly for such a small read.
