Just Kiss Me Back

Just Kiss Me Back

A Poem by trainwreck
"

Judas Iscariot. Not my hero, but he's never talked about.

"

I'm stumbling through my streets,

Remembering,

Just remembering.

You were here!

You walked with me,

I was your sinner,

And you were my breaking dream.

We can see you weaving;

Did the darkness of your deed

Infect your gray soul?

Do you want to let go?

We can hear you screaming,

But you are not seeing

What is clear.

I'm searching for my start,

Aching heart,

Pressing dark.

You were light!

You loved all of me,

I wanted blood,

You gave love,

And I lost the chance to be anything.

Throw your money on the floor,

See if regret saves you from your

Own Darkness inside.

You think you can hide?

We'll supply the rope

If you leave us alone.

Leave us here.

We gave the noose,

And put it around my neck,

                     Redemption slips away from you,

But all I wanted was forgiveness.

So. This was inspired by Judas, betrayer of Jesus Christ. The italics are the Pharisees, who hired Judas to help them kill Jesus. No offense intended, and no, I don't actually like Judas at all.

I agree, this is a taboo and I like it that you confronted this silent 'fear' people seem to have when it comes to write about these things - and you did it quite well. The structure of the poem made me think of a play/musical.
Judas is not my personal hero either, far from it, but I like it how absurdly human you've made him sound like - the opposite to Jesus Christ. But it's like we're allowed to see that Judas could be just a weak, flawed human being like everyone can be, and maybe, just maybe he might not be the beast he's often seen as.

Judas is a great mystery still. Time make all stories harder and more direct. I wonder why he did what he did and what happen after? Forgiveness is hard. Many stories of Jesus life and death. Faith is the key I believe. Thank you for the powerful poem. Open the doors to many more questions. A excellent poem.
