... And You Better Believe It!

... And You Better Believe It!

A Poem by trainwreck

Once upon a time

I found a heart and made it mine;

It was broken and ashamed,

But it always scared my clouds away,

And so I held on tight.

It liked to leave

And wanted to see everything,

But when it was cold or scared,

And I was --somehow-- made aware,

I would do my best to hold it close to me.

This heart was beautiful

And it made others, however terrible,

Fill with sympathy

As they listened to its broken symphony

... and it grew fairer still.

Finally, this heart outgrew me,

It became a perfect beauty

And used its scars

As a perfect start

To hang the stars and set them moving.

Oh I so love the last line, there are some absolute classic poetic moments embedded in this piece, its affectionate approvals, its endearing love for the person mentioned reaches out so sweetly. Well Done Heidi!! Great work..

Nicely done...but i would suggesst expanding your though process. Its a tad bit repetitive, not alot. just a bit. overall the meaning is evident and it is without doubt refreshing and emotional.
