Broken glass

Their wasn't a single definable point 

In time when the crack accured

More a gradual separation that 

Happened over months almost

Imperceivable at first

The space between us grew 

Wider with each week that passed 

Until there was so little contact

Just emptiness between us and

Then it was too late 

Long term relationshiip cannot 

Continue to thrive without a

Commitment to share in each

Others dreams and schemes

That's how they last

Watching from a distance isn't 

The way forward when you know

Of the pain and suffering of a 

Heart broken into slivers of glass

Unable to leave the past
